Siripong Akkarasriyuk, founder of Hawell's, is selling his ice cream business for 165 million baht, approximately S$6.3 million. The sale includes company assets, recipes, and trademark rights. Akkarasriyuk plans to prepare for monkhood, a process that will take two years, during which he will also find land for a forest retreat for meditation.

He has announced the sale on Facebook, offering a referral fee of 5 million baht, about S$191,180, to anyone who can facilitate the sale. Further details of the proposed takeover are available.

Akkarasriyuk's decision to sell the business is part of his plan to cut off all contact, including with his family, as he pursues a life of monkhood.
