Changes are coming to the Primary One Registration Framework to improve access and inclusivity for children from all backgrounds. The Ministry of Education will introduce two new changes starting with the 2027 registration exercise.

More spots will be reserved for children without prior connections to a school at the 2C phase. Currently, 40 places are reserved, but this number will increase to 60 in most schools.

Further details about the changes are available, including exceptions for schools with smaller intakes. Education Minister Desmond Lee announced the refinements on September 10.
